Robot girlfriends have just taken a giant leap out of science fiction thanks to Moya, an AI companion created by Chinese robotics firm DroidUp.

The $173,000 humanoid is designed to look, move, and even feel more human than ever before.

It boasts realistic synthetic skin, and a carefully engineered body built to mimic real anatomy.

And perhaps more amazingly, it actually emits body heat.

These robot girlfriends can be customized to your liking

Moya stands about 5 feet 5 inches tall and features silicone skin layered over a structure designed to resemble bones and muscle.

Its surface temperature ranges from 32 to 36 degrees Celsius, close to natural human warmth.

DroidUp says the robot walks with motion that is more than 90 percent similar to a human gait.

It can smile, wink, and make subtle facial expressions using dozens of tiny actuators in its head.

The robot is also modular.

Owners can customize hairstyles, facial features, and even body form.

According to DroidUp, Moya is built for companionship, conversation, and emotional interaction.

It uses advanced AI to respond in real time and maintain context in conversations.

The goal, it seems, is to create a presence that feels engaging rather than mechanical.

There are all sorts of robots these days

But Moya is just one example of how far robotics has come.

In warehouses, robots now handle picking, sorting, and lifting tasks that once required teams of workers.

A new era of logistics robotics is kicking off with Gino 1, the world's first humanoid robot developed by Geek+ specifically for warehouse operations.

Some systems use advanced vision and touch sensors to identify and grasp objects with precision.

In homes, humanoid robots are being trained to fold laundry and do your household chores.

The 1X NEO robot has begun taking over our worst home duties, and even rival companies are applauding how the humanoid is transforming the robotic industry

On farms, autonomous machines plant crops and harvest produce with minimal human input.

Robots are even venturing into stranger territory.

There are robots that can perform wild Kung Fu moves, play tennis, and play soccer.

In fact, there are even robot dogs in development, because why not?

This new Chinese robot dog is a hybrid beast that hits 11mph on flat ground and can climb multiple flights of stairs

Even amongst all these robots, Moya represents a different direction, focusing on companionship.

Of course, this raises big questions.

Will robot girlfriends reduce loneliness, or will they increase isolation instead?

And how will society adapt as machines become more lifelike?

For now, one thing is certain.

Robots are no longer just tools in factories.

They are entering homes, workplaces, and personal lives.

And with Moya, the age of high tech companionship just got a lot warmer.
